Chocolate Chip Cookie galore

I cannot believe how fast time is flying by! Another week has already flown by, and it has been a busy week.

Happy Valentines Day (well on Monday i guess), I hope you all had a great valentines, I know i did. I took a day trip to Bath to celebrate! It was a lot of fun, and the weather was beautiful! I just wandered around the city enjoying the markets, the architecture, the people and the beauty. it is such a fun place to be because it is such a historical place. It is a world heritage site. The entire town is because of the limestone on the buildings and the history behind it. I went to the Sally Lunn's Bakery and got myself a roll. The rolls are the size of my head (no joke) and i took that with me back to London to enjoy for dinner. I really enjoyed wandering around Bath because when my mom was a junior in college she came to study abroad in the UK and studied in Bath for the semester, so it was nice getting to know the town that she lived in for 4 months!! I tried finding a coffee mug for her because she collects starbucks mugs from every place shes been, but they didn't have Bath. They had Wales, Scotland, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, England, but no Bath. Since she had been to all of the places they had mugs for I did buy her one of the mugs, but She will have to wait to see which one I got for you. It has been narrowed down to six of them!!

I thought the Boston Tea Party coffee house was just really clever and historical for all my US friends back home!!

On tuesday I went to class and then I had an information meeting about my placement for my internship (the one i mentioned a while ago in my blog, yes, im sticking with it). i learned all about where it was located and what they expected of me and what i would be doing while i was there. I was also given an interview time and i was set to go with my interview scheduled on Thursday! I also decided that I was going to be really nice and make my flatmates cookies as a good luck to interviews. I got home around 8 and began making to dough and putting the cookies in the oven. each time i took a tray of cookies out of the oven, they were gone within 5 minutes. It is a great benefit of living with so many people, cookies go freakishly fast. At LMU it would take me days to get rid of all my cookies, here, less than a hour!

On wednesday i went out and explored London a little more, I also decided to go and see the matinee of Love Story. I don't know if you have ever seen the movie, it is old and it is sad, but they have made it into a musical. It surprised me in being good. I was expecting a really cheesy and bad musical (they do exist) but this one was enjoyable, and i got really really cheap tickets so i thoroughly enjoyed it.

My interview day was on thursday. I had scoped the place out on wednesday and I was all set for my interview. I was actually a little nervous becuase they want me to do a lot and some of the stuff I am not sure I am qualified enough the do, but I will learn fast and do a great job. The location for my internship is great. I take the tube 3 stops to green pack and it is a 5 minute walk from the tube! it is in a high-end business area. There is a Rolls-Royce dealership on the corner, Gucci is on the street and the list continues. It is a high end shopping district. There is a nice little park that I will go to if the weather is good and eat lunch enjoying the fresh air. I got to my office at 10:57 (three minutes early) and was ready for my interview. I was told that the interview was business causal, no need to wear a suit but it implied that I had to look professional. I wore a grey skirt, belt, black shirt and heels. My boss was wearing jeans, sneakers, and a shirt. I was a little over dressed to say the least. The interview was nice and easy, I went upstairs and met the rest of the employees and I was out of the building by 11:05. It took my longer to get to my interview, than my interview actually lasted.

Friday nothing out of the ordinary happened. I was going to go to a matinee on Saturday, but I got down to the ticket booths and the lines were really long and the tickets were expensive!! So i decided to go back to my flat, found a cheap ticket online and I went to Grease on Saturday night instead! it was a fun light-hearted musical! I enjoyed it, but then i enjoy most musicals!

Today was just another relaxing day. I got my bag for spring break next week!! I will be heading to paris and rome!! It should be really awesome and exciting and i am looking forward to going!! Laurel and I are going to have a blast!! I then came back to my flat and I made cookies for everyone again!! It is finals for a lot of people and I decided they needed some good home cooked food and some freshly backed cookies to ease the stress. So i made up four dozen cookies! they only lasted about an hour and they were gone really fast! I just love cooking and I love to have other people who will eat my baked goods!!

I am now in the midst of applying for internships for the summer. I have been looking up so many options, but i now actually have to apply. I am going to find something to keep me busy tomorrow to take my mind off decisions and i am just really looking forward to paris and rome!!

So stay tuned, because in two weeks I will have tons of adventures coming from Paris and Rome!!!!

Kickboxing, bus tours and other fun adventures!

It was a great week. I think that is always a positive way to think about a week! I didn't do very much on monday, but on tuesday it was an absolutely stunning day!! I was really sad that I had class for 9 hours, but i found out that one of my classes was cancelled from 4-8 and instead we were going to watch a movie at 8! So i got to enjoy some of the beautiful weather outside!! You can see the sunset below! I love sunsets so i was really happy when I got to see a magnificent one!

The move we went to on Tuesday was called N.E.D.S. It stands for Non Educated Delinquents. If you are in the mood for a light-hearted, uplifting movie, this is not for you. It is about a boy who has dreams and aspirations and gets involved with a gang. He ends up ruining his life and when he gets back into the school system he is placed into the special education class and can never work his way out of it. Like I said, not uplifting and happy.

Wednesday was another stunning day, bright and sunny so i spent time walking around and enjoying the day. Nothing too exciting.

Thursday was quite exciting! I went to classes like normal and then in the evening I went to kickboxing! It was my first time ever trying kickboxing. I had heard that it is a great workout, and trust me, it is! it was meant to be a beginners course, but only two of us were actual beginners. Although there was padding I was not used to punching and kicking another person! I felt really bad! My partner and I both got kicked. On accident we both kicked each other in the stomach. I was really sore the next day, but it was worth it! I will be going every week because I thought it was a lot of fun and a great work out!

On Saturday I decided to go on a bus tour day trip to Stratford, Cotswold and Oxford! It was a lot of fun! I went by myself, but the tour was divided into two groups. One of the groups was a Japanese group and was run entirely in Japanese, and then there was my group. My group only had 7 people in it and out of those 7, 4 of us were college students studying in London! We had a great time together, lots of great laughs and great sights!! We got to see some of the places Harry Potter was filmed, which was great fun! We also saw some beautiful countryside along the way!! We toured through Shakespeare's birth place and Anne Hathaway's (Shakespeare's wife) cottage. Overall it was a great day!!

I have spent most of today just relaxing and doing some homework. I am heading back to Bath tomorrow, so I will keep you all updated. This upcoming week is a big week, we have our interviews, I have a parliament tour and it should be loads of fun!! I will keep you all updated on the fun adventures

Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake

It is super bowl sunday!

A group of us are watching it on BB1 and cheering for our respective teams. we are being patriotic while being in London!

The beginning of my week was pretty normal, I didn't do very much on monday. On tuesday I had my three classes like normal, but I had my first midterm. I think it went pretty well! Wednesday I spent the time cleaning my room because my parents came and visited me on Thursday!!

Thursday I met my parents for breakfast before my classes (yes, I still had to go, my parents didn't let me skip!) It was really fun seeing them even if it was just for an hour. I then went to the Charles Dickens Museum, and that was rather interesting. It was cool to learn a lot more about his life and how it influenced his novels. My social welfare class was normal, it went on kinda long and people kept asking questions. I just wanted them to be quiet so that I could leave and be with my parents!! (My parents spent the day just walking around London and taking in the sights!)

Thursday night my parents and I travelled to Piccadilly Circus, where we went to a pub for dinner. I tried my first fish and chips! Traditional british food, but I wasn't a huge fan. I do not like fish, and although I could not taste the fish, I didn't like the fish texture, it was just weird! We then went to the musical, We Will Rock You. It was so much fun! the musical was filled with energy and excitement. It was musical filled with music by Queen. It got audience involvement singing and dancing in their seats. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to see a fun light-hearted musical, because it was just a lot of fun!

On Friday we woke up nice and early, had a great breakfast and then headed to the portobello road market. It was just great spending time with my parents in London! They bought a couple of maps. I got a couple of boots (my old ones were falling apart), some fresh fruit and just enjoyed walking around.  I got a poster that says, Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake. I love it! It is perfect with the week I was having last week. It also goes great with the little poster (that i didn't buy but have written and posted on my wall) that says, Now Panic and Freak Out.

We ended up going to the show, Love Never Dies on Friday night. It wasn't as good as i was expecting. It kinda fell flat. the story line wasn't great and the music wasn't on par with other andrew lloyd weber music. from the person who did Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar and so many other greats, it just wan't up to par.

Saturday morning I said goodbye to my parents at at beautiful hour of 7:40am. It was a great visit with them and I loved it but always really sad to say goodbye. The visit was just wayyyyyyy to short! I spent the day kinda relaxing and then heading off to a movie. I saw the movie, A Little Bit of Heaven. It is a really sad movie. A woman get diagnosed with colon cancer and she dies. That is not really ruining anything for those of you who might see it because that is revealed in the first 20 minutes of the movie.

This morning I spent time heading to Chinatown for the huge Chinese New Year celebrations. It was really fun to see all of the lanterns and all of the people out. It was filled with singers, dancers, lion dancing, firecrackers and all of that good stuff. it was a great time and made me miss the days that I lived in China!

I have nothing really planned for my week at this point. I am hoping that I can go somewhere this upcoming weekend. Maybe Spain? Portugal? Scotland? who knows where my adventures will take me!!
